Des’s journey in life was never easy. Always a risk-taker, the toss of a coin shaped his destiny.

Never afraid of hard work, he carved out a life for himself and family in some of Australia’s inhospitable places.

The isolation suited him, being a man more comfortable with his own company than most. But life was tough, the work endless and his body worn from injury and exertion.

Des had tried burying childhood pain and rejection and had long been running on empty when he profoundly encountered a loving God who filled the void in his heart and healed his body. His story will amaze with the myriad of miracles, healings and supernatural interventions that followed as his true Father poured out His unending love, acceptance and power.

‘This book evolved over a five-year period. During a prophecy given to Shelley at our church in Victoria in 2019 she was asked, “Do you write?” She was then told that she would write a book that would increase the faith of many people. This was right out of left field as she had never written anything like a book. Just six weeks later, while in conversation with her father, he mentioned that he’d love to record all the miracles God had done in their family’s lives, but he wasn’t a writer. In amazement, we realised God was leading us, via the prophecy and so we agreed to write her Dad’s story.

As Des lived in Queensland, we attempted on two occasions to begin collating the stories over the phone. However, both times he became ill and was hospitalised, so the work was abandoned before it truly began. It seemed that some spiritual force didn’t want the book written. Over time we encouraged him to list the stories with their details and we planned to compile the book from his notes.

Eventually, he completed the list, but then in February 2022 Gympie experienced its worst floods in 130 years and Shelley’s parents had to evacuate their home. His notes were thought lost to the floodwaters. Eventually, in the clear out of their flooded home he found the sodden notes. He prised them apart, page by page and recovered all that he had written. Later that year Shelley sat each day for a week on their front verandah (the house was still gutted waiting repairs) and typed, while her Dad narrated from his recovered notes.

Mid 2023, we moved back to Queensland permanently and worked on the book to the place where we felt it was ready for publication. Though it’s been a dislocated literary journey our part in the prophecy has been fulfilled. Loving God and loving people is how Shelley Reaney has lived her 40 plus years as a fervent follower of Jesus, leading home groups for much of that time in an active church life. She ministers with her husband Jeff in helping others to live free of demonic influences and wounds of the past. This book about miracles in her family arose out of a specific prophecy which stated that she would write a book that would encourage many people in their journey of faith in God.

She lives with Jeff in the sublime atmosphere of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in Australia where she is pursuing a passion for growing exotic tropical plants.

Jeff Reaney is an author based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. In more than 40 years of being a Christian, Jeff has seen many miracles and was very keen to assist in writing this book about the miracles that happened in his in-laws’ family. He is the author of ‘Close the Gates’, in which he exposes Satan’s strategies to harass and influence people, citing many firsthand experiences from his ministry in deliverance. Through his writing, Jeff seeks to empower and equip Christians to throw off spiritual chains and uncover their God-given identity and destiny. He derives great satisfaction from seeing Christians walking in their authority, destroying the works of the kingdom of darkness and expanding the Kingdom of God in their own life and the lives of others.
